Our Adirondack Leash Coupler is an excellent choice for tandem walking.  Each lead piece is constructed from 3/4" Biothane, is 12" long and is finished off with your choice of solid brass or stainless steel trigger or bolt snaps.  A 1.5" O-ring connects the 2 lead pieces for easy attachment to any leash.

I purchased several items for my Ridgebacks one of which was a leash coupler. It is far superior to what I was using. The other items wre BioThane leashes and snap collars. They might cost more than similar items but they are worth it.
