April is National K9 Fitness Month!
As we step into April, we are thrilled to celebrate National K9 Fitness Month! This month-long celebration isn’t just about walks in the park or games of fetch—it’s about prioritizing the health, happiness, and vitality of our beloved four-legged friends.
We believe that a fit pup is a happy pup. Just like us, our furry friends benefit greatly from regular exercise. A well-rounded fitness routine can lead to improved cardiovascular health, better joint mobility, increased muscle tone, and a sharper mind. Plus, let’s not forget the mental and emotional benefits—exercise helps reduce stress and anxiety, leading to a more content and well-behaved dog.

There are lots of creative ways to step-up a fitness routine!
One activity that we've personally been enjoying lately is participating in "virtual 5k walk/runs". You'll benefit from this too! You can do your 5k from any location on your own time - it can be just you and your dog, or you can organize a group. Often, these events also relate to fundraisers for a number of causes - so you can feel good and do good at the same time! WIN-WIN!
I'm going to share links to 2 events that we're participating in this month - let us know if any of you sign up for these or any other similar walks! We'd love to hear about your experience!
The AKC Spring Scurry - details and sign-up are at this link
Run for the Trees Happy Little 5k - details and sign-up are at this link
OH - and both of these events offer medals that will look super-cute on your dog! Send us your photos if you get some swag!
Now get out and play!
